Today in Copenhagen we are celebrating! For the first time since moving to the United States in 2007, all three of the Zendesk founders are together again in the city where it all began. The founders –Alexander Aghassipour, Morten Primdahl and Mikkel Svane—are bringing it home.
The Founder’s Event kicked off in our CPH office with opening remarks by Lord Mayor Frank Jensen followed by food and drinks with the Copenhagen team, the founders, and our community partners.
This celebration serves as a reminder of how far Zendesk has come over the last nine years. Not only is it the five-year anniversary of our Copenhagen office, but also notably, we are announcing a partnership with the Danish startup, Be My Eyes. Be My Eyes is an app that connects blind people to a network of sighted volunteers for help through live video chat. Through this partnership, we will provide resources, mentorship and financial support to Be My Eyes signifying our commitment to the socially conscious start-up. Be My Eyes represents the next generation of start-ups; one that are social aware and embedded this mindset through their business model.
Working with socially conscious startups is a new initiative within the umbrella of our Zendesk Loves Startups program. Through this program, qualified startups are given free Zendesk software for a year, a financial contribution, office hours with Zendesk’s executive team and other key personnel to help build their socially minded business.
With this announcement, the Founder’s event brought it full circle. We are excited for what is to come with our partnership with Be My Eyes and other socially minded startups!
