It is 'April Month of Service' in our San Francisco office! We have teams and individuals headed out into the neighborhood each weekday this month to do our part in the community. We will be helping out many different local organizations throughout the month with a total of 33 volunteer shifts. As the first week of April wraps up, we have some great highlights to share:
We had two volunteers out on our regular Tuesday Cycling Without Age ride with Curry Senior Center seniors. This week the group cycled to the Ferry Building where they enjoyed gorgeous views of the waterfront and Treasure Island.
Another highlight was our Velocity Sales team’s volunteering opportunity with The Arc SF. The Arc is a learning and achievement center for adults with developmental disabilities in San Francisco. The group spent the morning assisting the weekly Art and Life Skills classes with clients of the Arc. Collage-making, painting and hanging out with clients was a special opportunity for the team!
One sales team also helped with the daily lunch shift at GLIDE this week. GLIDE serves approximately 2,000 meals per day to the Tenderloin community and needs up to 85 volunteers a day. Donning hairnets and aprons, the group served food, bussed tables, and handed out silverware while chatting with the lunch guests.
We also had two groups at St. Anthony’s this week. Our New Hires wrapped up their orientation with volunteering in their Free Clothing Program and a group of Zendeskians helped out in the Friday Dining Room Shift helping to serve meals to the clients.
It was a great start of our Month of Service in San Francisco. Check back next week as we continue to highlight some of the different opportunities to give back to our neighborhood!
